Prize terms

The Workday Putting Challenge is a free game of skill run by Workday in the Finance Zone at Workday Rising 2026, October 12 to 15 in Las Vegas. These terms cover the prizes and, together with the official rules, are the complete terms of the game. By participating, you agree to be bound by these terms and the official rules.

Free to play

No purchase necessary. Playing is free and entirely optional. No purchase, subscription, contract or business commitment of any kind is required to play or to win, and a purchase will not increase your chances of winning.

Not a sales incentive

Prizes are a thank you for taking part. They are not offered to influence any purchasing decision or contract, and no prize depends on any evaluation, meeting, referral or purchase. Prizes are awarded on the results of the game alone, without regard to any business relationship with Workday.

Check your own company’s gift policy, and any law that applies to you, before you accept a prize. Following them is your responsibility. Every winner can choose the donation, and you can always decline.

Who is eligible

Anyone attending Workday Rising in person can play. Prizes go to registered attendees who are 18 or older at the time they join. Workday employees, contractors, zone staff and partners, and members of their immediate families, are not eligible for prizes. If one of them finishes with the top score, the prize goes to the next eligible player. One scorecard per person, and anyone can play hidden from the board.

Before handing over a prize, Workday may ask a winner to show their scorecard and confirm their identity, age and registration. A winner who cannot be verified, or who turns out to be ineligible, forfeits the prize and it passes to the next eligible player.

When

Scoring runs on Monday, October 12 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, and on Tuesday, October 13 and Wednesday, October 14 from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Thursday, October 15 from 9:00 AM to noon is for collecting prizes only. All times are Pacific. Workday’s clock is the official clock of the game.

How prizes are won

The daily prize goes to the top score when the day’s challenge ends on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, decided by skill. The Finance Zone Cup goes to the player with the best two rounds out of those three days. Ties go to the better putt, then fewer wrong answers, then the earlier score.

Everyone who takes their first putt receives a golf ball or a ball marker while supplies last.

Workday’s records of scores and times are final, and its decisions on scores, ties and prizes are final in all respects.

The prizes

The daily prize is AirPods 5, with an approximate retail value of $149, or a $100 donation made by Workday to the World Wildlife Fund in the winner’s name. There are three, one each for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The Finance Zone Cup winner chooses a Workday putter, with an approximate retail value of $275, or a $250 donation made by Workday to the World Wildlife Fund in the winner’s name. The giveaway is a golf ball or a ball marker worth about $2.

The daily prize can be won once per person. Prizes cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash, and Workday may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if one becomes unavailable. Apple and the World Wildlife Fund are not sponsors of the challenge. Any tax on a prize is the winner’s responsibility, and Workday may need the winner’s details where the law requires them to be reported.

Claiming

Prizes are handed over in person at the green, or shipped to the winner on request. A daily winner has through the following day to collect or to ask for shipping from their scorecard. Wednesday’s winner and the Cup winner have until noon on Thursday. An unclaimed prize passes to the next eligible player on that list.

To have a prize shipped, a winner gives a name, email and mailing address on their scorecard and agrees to share them with Workday. Workday uses them only to deliver the prize. Workday pays for shipping. The golf ball and ball marker are collected in person only. If you leave an email address on your scorecard, we use it only to arrange your prize.

Your name on the board

By participating, you agree that your first name, last initial and company may appear on the leaderboard, on the screens in the Finance Zone and on your scorecard during the event. You can switch your company off at any time, and you can play hidden from the board. Workday does not use your name for any other publicity without asking you first.

Fair play

One scorecard per person. Sharing codes, playing on someone else’s behalf, automated play, tampering with the app or the green, and unsporting behaviour are not allowed. Workday may void a score, disqualify a player or withhold a prize where it reasonably believes these terms have been broken.

Release and limitation of liability

Putting is a physical activity. You take part at your own risk, and you are responsible for playing safely and for following the instructions of the staff at the green. By participating, and by accepting a prize, you release Workday, its affiliates, and their officers, employees, contractors and agents from any claim, loss or injury arising from taking part in the game or from accepting or using a prize, to the fullest extent the law allows.

Workday is not responsible for scans, answers or putts that are lost, late or misrecorded because of a phone, network, venue or technical problem, or for any error by a player or a member of staff, and is not liable for anything beyond the value of the prize concerned. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes and cancellation

If the game cannot run as planned for reasons outside Workday’s control, or if a technical problem or interference affects its fairness, Workday may change, suspend or cancel it, and may award prizes on the scores properly recorded up to that point. Void where prohibited by law.

Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute about the game or a prize is to be brought in the state or federal courts located in Alameda County, California. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. If anything said about the game elsewhere differs from these terms and the official rules, these terms and the rules control.
