Privacy notice

What the Workday Putting Challenge app collects about you, what we do with it, and how long we keep it. It sits under Workday’s Privacy Statement, which applies to anything not covered here.

What we collect

When you join we ask for your first name, last name and company. Nothing else. As you play we record which booths you scanned, which answers you chose and the putts the staff at the green record for you, each with the time. If you are in the running for a prize and choose to leave an email address so we can reach you, we keep that too. If you win and ask us to ship your prize, we ask for your full name, email, mailing address and, if you want to give one, a phone number. We take those only after you tick a box agreeing to share them.

Your phone holds one cookie that brings your scorecard back when you return. It carries no personal information and is used for nothing else.

Why we collect it

To run the game. Your name and company put you on your scorecard and the leaderboard, your play works out your points, and the optional email lets us arrange a prize if you are not at the green when it is called. The shipping details you give us are used to send your prize to you and for nothing else.

We do not use any of it for marketing, sales follow-up or advertising, we do not add it to any other Workday system, and we do not sell it or share it for those purposes. We process it on the basis of the consent you give when you join, and you can withdraw that consent at any time by deleting your data. The data is stored and processed in the United States.

Who can see it

On the leaderboard and the screen at the green you appear as your first name, last initial and company. You can switch the company off from your scorecard at any time, under You. The Workday staff running the Finance Zone can see your full name, company and scores so they can record putts and hand over prizes. Shipping details are seen only by the Workday staff who arrange delivery and by the carrier that delivers the prize.

The app is hosted by service providers who process the data on our behalf, under contract, and for no other purpose.

How long we keep it

Until seven days after Workday Rising, when everything is deleted automatically. You can delete your details sooner with the Delete my data button under You in the app. Your points then stay in the course totals without your name. If we are shipping a prize to you, Workday keeps the address only until the prize has been delivered.

No tracking

There are no analytics scripts, advertising cookies or third-party trackers in the app. To protect it from abuse we keep a short count of requests by network address for a few minutes, and that count is not tied to your name.

Your choices

Play with your company hidden from the board. Leave the email box empty. Collect a prize in person, or choose the donation, and give us no address at all. Delete your data at any time. If you have a question about your information, ask the team at the green or use the contact details in Workday’s Privacy Statement.
